On my E39 528i 1997 Auto when changing gears to “D" on display it shows “S1” and I can only go as fast as 30 miles an hour driving with my engine raving high. I can also switch to "R" normally and drive in reverse. This happened to me ones before about three month ago and then the problem went away. What can be causing this? Can this be an electronic issue? used
