Did it have this issue when you took it into the service shop for the transmission service?
Do you know what sort of oil filter was used when the ATF was changed?
Hey . Sorry to say, but your going to need your transmission rebuilt, or replaced entirely. I dont know If you have an auto or manual tranny either, so any insight on this would be appropriate. I have a 99' 528 with 83,000 miles, hardly driven at all , in a auto tranny and I needed a replacement and got one about 3 months ago. I had jerking from D to P, D to R, D to N, N to D, N to P, and so forth. It was a lurch more than a jerks, and If I were to give it gas during the lurch it would simply rev ( without going anywhere ) and lurch bigger when I got into gear. Just my 2 cents. Any more info would be appreciated.
Also I can give you the name of a place to buy the transmission if requested.

He already said the fluid level was good, as checked by an indy shop. If they checked correctly then that would make checking the fluid again redundant... Also when was the fluid and filter changed ( if Changed )? What kind of atf fluid was replaced? ----- ( Brettski's questions repeated )
Did the shop use a pump to change the fluid? There were quite a few of these cars that needed a transmission repair or replacement in my immediate area. Most had symptoms of what both you and I described.
Also how long have you had the car? Did it have this issue for a while. Even if it wasn't bad before, it could progressively develop into a much bugger issue.
Important, tranny type auto or manual.. Gm or Zf ..

i can drive without it jerking.. all i have to do is start in d2 than shift to neutral and wait one sec and shift to drive... when i have to slow down, slower then 20 mph i has to shift to neutral so it wont jerk...
