1) Is there a way to adjust the car phone ring volume independent of the radio?
(actually the radio volume doesn't seem to affect it). The darned thing is so loud it scares the crap out of me when it rings!
2) How does the car remember climate settings? No rhyme or reason to it as far as I can discern. Sometimes remembers sometimes not.
3) When does the timing belt get changed on the 540i?

1. Don't know, I just use my independent cell phone.
2. Don't know, but I've noticed the same thing.
3. Finally! One I know! There is no timing belt on the 540. All 4 precision camshafts are chain-driven, so there are no timing belts to replace. Celebrate this fact, because Lord knows the car makes up for this with costly maintenance and repair in other areas...

One outta three aint bad!
Glad to here about the timing chain.
Yeah, maintainance ain't cheap that's for sure.
Sweat car though. I'm planning to drive it into the ground.

Beautiful Touring! Naturally, I am biased in favor of those Style 32 rims. They look good on the Touring. On top of all that, white is my favorite car color, so there ya go.
Let me know if you ever solve the mind-of-its-own climate control issue.

Same here, it does scare the hell out of me when the phone rings,
and I'm trying to figure out if it's the radar detector or the phone! LOL!
I haven't tried to adjust the volume, but would like to know how to as well.
As for the climate control memory, Try this and see if it works...
Set your preferred temps, then set your seat memory setting, like press memory 1 for example. I've been told that the seat memory also stores the radio settings, so maybe it might also include the climate control settings?
