i havent had a chance to investigate and wont have a chance till atleast tommorow.
what have you gents seen go on these trannies that would cause this problem... GM most of the time was just the fluid it self.. but id like to know any info at all b4 going at it head on as i am not an expert with bmw..

Sounds like a second to third solenoid but then again could be a valve body issue. But also, being a '98, maybe a mileage issue. Even though those bastards claim a "lifetime" fluid Bullsh*t, that's just crap. So, the thing to do is check the fault codes, then check fluid condition. Modern diagnostics will dictate repairs..... make sense????
