Tail Light Removal

i am going to get new tail lights for my 1990 525i. how hard is it to remove the tail lights and install new ones? how do you remove them? any help would be appreciated. thanks

it's is very straight forward.

for the outer part of the light, remove the carpet (there is like a clippy thing... you'll see it) and you'll see a connector (i believe only one). disconnect it, and then there are either 4 or 6 screws. when you get those off just push the light out from the inside... make sure you push the middle.

trunk part is the same way... move the carpet, and then just screws and push out.

btw. it should take you less than half an hour to remove and put back all 4
