had a big fail this weekend wen my car my head is cracked over a major overheat so b4 i go and get another 2.8 m52 i wanted to know if i can swap a 3.0L with out major work what parts do i need the is the engine harness the same what i need to change need all the info i can get on this thanks !
If its the newer 3.0 (M54) 2001... This replaced your M52, so have a look at this... BMW World - M54 Engine
Even if its the older unit, they should both bolt to your existing gearbox! But you should check the crankshaft output to the clutch/torque converter to see any modifications.
In both cases I think you would need the ECU's though...
