My sunroof is having major problems. It wont close unless you help it by pushing it and when you do get it closed, one side is sticking way up and the other is sunk down so that the seal is not made. Could this be due to a faulty motor or just a bent track?
Welcome!! Sorry to heard you are having problem with your sunroof. How old is your car? what kind of sound is making? When you try to help close the roof did you use both of your hand? here get one more person to help you.
1. try push the roof all the way back
2. one person push the close switch and (at sametime)
3. one person use both hand help to close the sunroof. Maybe this will help to get back to the track
It opens just fine without any assistance needed, but when it comes time to close it, it starts acting up. Its a 1985 528e. I can get it closed by myself, but it just doesnt close all the way, like the sunroof is closed but the back right corner is raised up above the roof, and the back left corner is below the roof line.
that is wierd. have you taken a look at the tracks for it?

is the sunroof bent? or warped a slight bit? ive seen this before on a 3 series and it happened to be the motor. but rule all possiblities before you change the expensive things.
