Hi all, i have recently bought a new batterie and decided to renew the alternator on my E34 520i and after that the idle is not constant as it was and when i press the gas pedal to start driving it wants to stall or when i press the brake pedal the same happens.
what could be wrong?
Itīs a 1989 520i M20B20 engine, the batterie is 12V/70 Ah.
maybe the timing is off ... the belt from the alternator may not be on tight ...

Batunas, you've got a big vacuum leak somewhere. Check all the vac. hoses and connections.

Thank you all, iīll check it.
By the way, is there any special product to use to seal the leaks?
I ask because iīve seen something transparent, like a glue , in the joints of a friendīs car.
Thanks once again!
No, don't use any glue or sealer on vacuum hoses. If they are soggy (mushy), dried, brittle and cracked or missing then just replace them. If they are loose then they are probably worn out or the wrong ones. Replace them.
Good Luck!
