stock 540 or 530 w/ a vf supercharger

Hi all,

I'm looking to get into the BMW game and have my selection limited to an E39 540 or 530. I never even considered the 530 due to the 540 having a lot more power, until someone on another forum mentioned the excellent package the 530 is. Less power but better built car & motor is in essence what he said.

I've always owned/driven sporty 4doors the real SHO's, Galant vr4, then a crappy company vehicle (free gas!) which I'm about to lose due to a move so I need something else. Power matters, but I'm tired of wrenching and don't want a kids car (evo, sti, etc) so BMW it is.

So ... why should or shouldn't I pick a stock 540 or supercharged 530 for my next daily driver?

Well you could go one step further and have a superchaged 540.

Yea, or an M5. Every time I think I've got my mind made up I bump into something else that makes me reconsider.

Well buying a car isn't a decision to rush into.

I definetly agree that the 530 has the "legendary" i6 from BMW,, but if you want power from stock get an 540, or you could find yourself a nice M5
