Ok, After sort of extensive research, it looks like it is something the dealer has to do. However, I did find somewhere suggesting that if you disconnect BOTH battery cables and touch them to each other (remember this is not connected to the battery) and then reattach cables. Personally , I don't see how that would do anything but I don't think it would hurt to try it either.

well if there are some capacitors, this might do something... I have no idea... this also might be affected if you have an audio capacitor (hooked into main power system) so beware... them damn electrons still confound me sometimes.
