Although I do not own a BMW I would like to ask a question about one. I know someone who owns a 1988 E34 525i manual. Its a single cam injected 2.5L that has an output of 126kw. The owner wishes to place either a 2 and a 1/4 inch or a 2.5 inch pipe with a sports muffler from the cat back leaving the cat and headers stock. So starting from the catalytic converter there would a larger dimater pipe and a sports muffler. Would there be noticable improvments in power and torque? What would the new output be around? If combined with a high flow filter and a chip what the expected power rise to??
he might lose some low end torque and gain some top end. Also, did u say 125kw - does this mean hp? If so, it's probably much higher than that. he should be pushing at least around 160.

get a Tri-Flo exhaust from BavAuto and a BavAuto chip programmed to work with the upgraded exhaust... I would say at least 15 hp and 15 tq throughout the whole rpm range.
