Sport vs Non-Sport

I'm a newbie to e39's and was wondering there is a difference between the sport and non sport models and what the differences are? Are the springs different, does it sit lower? etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks....

Lower, stiffer suspension, sports seats, sports steering wheel, usually different alloy wheels.

I don't know about other years and model but mine is an 02 530I sp. Other than the mentioned above, the kidney grill is blacken, the trims around all the windows are blacken, painted color coded mouldings all around the Bumper and doors, also the ///M logo on the shifter stick and on the steering wheel.

tell us which year you are talking about?

and this is how it goes:
You CAN put sport springs on the car, but you'll be better off buying a sports model to start with. There are numerous differences, which pretty much accounts for an extra $4500 dealership sticker when the car was brand new.

You get 17'' BBS wheels that look fantastic (if you're talking about 97-99 528) and will cost you about $900 to purchase now, you get M suspension which handles beautifully, which will still cost you good amount of money to buy, your outside window trim will be black instead of chrome, you will get M 3 spoke wheel, which will run you a good $300-400.

Then there are other options that are optional with sports package that you car can have, and standard models cannot

if you want it to sit lower, get yourself some coilovers. Its the best bang for your buck, You are going to have to deal with a bit harsher ride...

I didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I would continue this one. Has anyone ever changed the window trim from chrome to the blacked out trim? Is it possible? I like the look of the blacked out trim a little better and I was thinking of removing the chrome strip on the bumper guard and getting it painted to match. I think the subtle style change would go nice with my 18" ///M parallels...
