Every 48K miles for M52, M62
Every 100K miles for M52 TU, M54, M62TU
Spark plug gap & torque
.7mm (not adjustable)
97-98 two electrodes
99 on- 3 or more electrodes (Can be fitted to earlier models)
Torque: 25nm (18ft-lb)
Spark plug types:
M52- BOSCH F8LDCR
M52 TU- BOSCH FGR7DQP or NGK BKR6EQUP
M62 to 97- BOSCH F7LDCR or NGK BKR6EK
M62 from 97- BOSCH F9LDCR
Hey LOS, thanks for sharing that info! After trying to obtain spark plug torque info (and torques as well for the individual coils' nuts), I decided to go ahead and procure the Bentley manual ($$$), even though I got some good responses to my question. So from now on I should be more self-sufficient and also will hopefully be able, like you, to provide some grounded technical info when someone asks for it.

Yep, Amazon is where I got it - I was amazed by the price too (for a brand new manual, I was going to buy used at first). However, AFTER I put it into the shopping cart is when they told me it did not qualify for the "free super saver shipping".
So anyway, since they wanted over $6 for regular shipping anyway, I went ahead and opted for the upgrade to 2-day ($5 more at $11), which will get it to me by Friday, just in time for my weekend spark plug change project. If I'm feeling REALLY bold, I may just try to tackle the coolant change/flush as well.
