Unhappy smoke from exhaust

i have a E39 2002 520i 2.2 auto, getting kind of blue smoke from exhaust when i put my foot down on the acc. pedal.
can any1 explane what might be the problem

From my experience blue smoke is not a good sign of engine performance!

In worst case, you might need to do an overhaul or complete replacement.

Have you ever faced an over heat for long time before turning off the engine.

What is your mileage right now?

check oil level, if low check for oil leak beneath the engine.
Check the radiator water level and colour aslo.

hope your problem will not be that big!

Could be the PCV valve, as asked whats the mileage PCV normally dies between 80-110K miles.
