signal lights : outside working, inside Nothing!! Help - BMW Forum

Hi Guys,

strange thing just happened in my E39 525.

the signal lights are working in the outside, but the dashboard signals are not working!

:

by the dashboard signals i mean this one:

even the click sound is gone (that click .. click you hear when you turn on the signal)

and now after this happened i dont have a reverse light!!

checked the bulbs and changed them but still not working.

checked the dashboard test (2.1) and all the lights of the dash board are working!

checked all the fuses, even the dashboard it self, but couldnt find anything wrong!!!

any ideas!?

I was under the impression that the clicking of the turn signal is the relay clicking. Unless I'm wrong about that, I really have no idea how the lights would work if the relay isn't.

i guess your right!

but the problem is that i tried to change it and it was the same.. i thought maybe the second relay is also not working or somthing so i fixed a second one and the same thing happened! i am really Puzzeled about this!

i even tried to fix another dash board, presuming that this one is not working properly.. but it didnt change a thing! the problem stayed!

I did some searching, and I think you'll like the fact that we have the problem tracked down ... probably wont like the fact that it's gonna cost some money to fix.

OMG! you will hate me now!

i forgot to say that i already changed the LCM! but the problem didnt go away!!! Sorry man!

but reaaly thanks a bunch for your concern! and again sorry for not mentioning that before!

I guess the next step is to call Ghostbusters. hah.

I am really about as confused as I can be.

thats exactly what i feel the whole time trying to figure out whats wrong!!

but u know what! since everything is working already... i decided to leave it!

i dont need to see the inner light working, niether hear that click click is so important!

Yeah you can turn into the stereotypical BMW owner and just omit using turn signals altogether.
