Okay guys needs some help:

In one corner is my current ride: It is a super rare variant of the E34, none like it. It has the racing dynamics appearance package(skirts, spoiler, rims, exhaust), it has a 5 speed manual, and has the M5 bucket seats. It is in mint condition and has 183,000KM. See Pic below.

[attachmentid=22434]

In the opposing corner is the prospect: 2000 BMW 540i 6 Speed, Audiophile Package, back on black, comfort seats (BOOO), 71,500KM. Sporky just so you know it does have the Xenon lights on it !! Pic below.

[attachmentid=22435]

Bad Picture I know. But I saw the car it looks amazing, very clean. The dealer is asking for 35,000, I think that is too much, how much should this car be worth potentially. (Canadian Dollars) I want to hit him up with an offer of $30,000?

Last question: Will my stock rims on the E34 5 Series fit the E39 5 Series...I use the stock rims as my winter tires...?

Thanks in Advance

Scotty!

Awww man, now I'm starting to doubt....Torque!! haha

What do you suggest I do? I really love my E34 and I know there is not a single car like it in Ontario but I really really want a 540i?

If you are an old bimmer lover, then you should stick with your e34. There seems to be nothing wrong with it, so why get rid of it?

But if you want some more power, the 540i is the way to go. I'd suggest getting a 540i with the Sport Package, but that looks like a nice car. I love the manuals in the e39 5ers, they slip in and out (of gears) oh sooo smooth.

I'm more of a newer BMW lover, so I'd say yeah, go for the 540i.

Oh and, I love Xenons, I'd only get a BMW with them, but that's just my opinion.

Good luck!

As I always like to say, "If you can't pick one or the other, get both!"

Man, your E34 is sexy and agressive looking, and its actually the BMW I was looking to get before I ended up getting an E36, on the other hand that 5 series doesn't look too bad either, but it has a completely different look to it. I think the 5 series BMW's have a business exec look to them, whereas the 3 series has a sport yet stylish look to them, it all depends on what you want your appearance to be like in my humble opinion. You also say your car is one of a kind, doesn't that tell you right there that you should keep it?

(From the pose you're doing next to your car, I'd say the E34 matches you waaaay better =D )

Where are you located ? There might be people wanting to buy the e34 in case you do decide to sell.

Waterloo, Ontario, its just an hour away from Toronto.

Right now I'm still on the fence...I do not know if I want to sell it. I will only sell if I get my asking price.

I may wait it out and try to get my hands on a 2001 540i with the M-Sport packge...

Don't sel your e34. It's gorgeous. The e39 doesnt seem to be edgy enough have have enough flare. The great thign about the e34 is that you can take it and make it look super sporty. You can do it with a e39 but it alwaysw seems to have that typical "middle-class sedan" look.

Both are grea cars, I just like your E34 more.

You know what, you are absolutely right! but eventually I'm gonna have to put this pretty E34 in storage, i don't want to drive it into the ground. Currently it is nearing the 190,000KM mark, lots of great mileage, but once it starts to hit the 220,000KM area I will have to buy a second bimmer...!

Thanks for all your help guys, my decision is made, I'm not going to sell.

Scott

As the owner of both, the e39 is a boat.

If you want a fast boat.. go for it.
However, an e34 540 would be a better choice. :P

I knew you would say that!!! :P

Funny story, I was actually heading to the dealership to make an offer...for some reason I was standing outside chillin and looking at a 2004 325Ci, what a beauty by the way, and some old dude says oh get it wont you! I was like sorry sir, I already own a Bimmer and I'm not exactly keen on the 3 series right now. He happens to have the beautiful M3 parked in the parking lot... ... so we start talking and I find out that the other beautiful 1994 M3 Euro spec in the dealers garage moded to the tits is his also his(roll cage, Hartge suspension, header upgraded....)....apparently he races that car on a liesurely basis, he has one of 50 euro spec M3's in North America!! After telling him my current scenario, first he says, "you realize your car is well known in this town", second he says, "If you get anything get a 330, the E39 will not by as nibble as your car, it is completely different, and only the 3 series will come close to the feel of an E34." To say the least I walked into my car feeling even happier and well to top things off both of us happaned to exit at the same to, so naturally we both raced down the road weaving in and out of traffic...he was much quicker in the M3 but I did keep on his tail! In the end at the stop light we turned opposite directions and gave the wave goodbyes...! Fantastic guy, sick car, and he set me straight!

...the bimmer gods were looking after me today !
