I fell in love with a 2009 528i with less than 18k miles...until I saw its service records...at 1k, certain "business software" was replaced; at 6k, a/c hose leaked; at 11k, power seat cable broke, and at 17k, highbeam holegen bulb permanently failed .
This car still has one yr original warranty and 2 yearCPO warranty.
I expect a trouble free record for a 2009 BMW with such low miles. Should I be concerned? I really really like this car but convinced myself to "sleep on it." And as you can see, I am losing sleep over it
Welcome to Bimmerwerkz...
I noticed NO warranty work on the engine !!!
Personally, I think you are trying to hard to talk yourself out of the deal, go with your head and not your heart on her !!
BTW, would be nice if you introduced yourself in the Noob section

If the price is right...and I mean really good price, I would gamble. Regardless what happens, car is still under factory warranty.
May be that bimmer just need it a better owner.
Dear Forum: I am very grateful for the replies from both sides of the ocean, especially in light of the fact that, as I have realized by reading the posts here, this forum is more about how to enjoy or fix a bimmer (rather than how to become its owner . By the way, I decide to walk away from this particular BMW because my comfort level is not there.
On a different note, a friend (a money guy in the used car industry) did math. It now makes sense to me to lease a 2012 528i/535i if the total $$ in three years is around $21,000 (cash at signing plus all lease payments).
My Q for people here: is $21,000 a reasonable expectation for leasing one w/ premium package? (10k/yr is OK with me and I have a top tier fico score).
Is it a good idea to deal with an internet-based leasing agent? (Patience is not my one of my virtues and I absolutely hate to dance with a dealer back and forth). I'd rather let "the fingers do the walking" on the phone since I know exactly what I want and love (down to the color and options).
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences.
Im personally not a lease fan. I prefer finance if anything. Some reasons why are that at the end of the lease you still dont own the car, and your not allowed to make any modifications or changes to the vehicle without consent. You may feel the itch to mod it shortly after (most do) and with a lease you wouldnt be as able to do that. You would have to return the vehicle to stock condition prior to turning it in.

I have to agree, you also have to pay for ANY faults/damages too !
