I have an automatic 97' 528i , and when ever it accelerates from a complete stop it doesnt shift until right after 6000 rpms which is about 60mph in my car . Is it normal ? are there any disadvantages? is it a big prob?

If it is floored that is normal for the later production cars. The earlier production cars, most E36 and earlier produced cars shift really early with sucks.
