I have a 1990 G plate 525i se.
When i hit the smallest of bumps my steering wheel really badly shakes as though my wheels are falling off which i have checked there not.
Would worn shocks or ball joint do this????
Any help would be appreciated.
Worn struts will do that. I had to have mine replaced because I was getting the exact same behavior.

hmm try just going in a straight line then letting loose of your wheel. If it jiggles it can be anything from something as cheap as air pressure, or maybe you didnt tighten your calipers enough to something more expensive as sway bar replacement.
