Shaking at Standstill - BMW Forum

Hi, I have just bought a E39 2001 BMW and I have noticed when I come to a stop, sometimes after driving for a few minutes, the car shakes quite hard like it is about to stall or is underevving too much, its a 530d with autogearbox and it still does it when I put it in neutral, after I have driven for a while it does seem to go away though sometimes it is still there.

Does anyone have any suggestions what it might be ?

i've got the same problem with mine, and mines a 2000 520i. can any1 enlighten us?????

Had a similar problem in my 85 635csi. You may have a vaccum leak. Pop your hood and start replacing cracked/aged hoses. You'd never believe the diffrence it made for my car.

Don't worry i'm still alive. First time checking in 6 months - whats the chances!

The problem was 5 faulty fuel injectors - ouch!!!! To get this fixed it is not cheap at all.

I am going to start another thread about this as the problem seems to be coming back only after a year, which is not very reassuring at all.
