Exclamation Sat Nav Help Requierd

HI

I bought a 2001 525d 2 months ago is has all the toys in it including sat nav. the CD i got was a 2001 witch does not have the post code entry facilty in it. I would like to know if anyone has tried the 2005 CD that has that facilty in it and would it work before i go and spend £150 to buy one. used:

The other prob i have is that after i have strated the car and the CD,radio ot the TV are playing the the sound cuts out after about 2mins and i have to switch the power off and leave it for about 15mins b4 i can get any sound back

For question 1, here in the US a 2001 would have a cd navigation module and a 2005 would have a DVD navigation module. Make sure you are purchasing the correct media for your system.

For question 2, this is most likely a radio problem or an amplifier problem. do you have DSP? (digital sound processor) this problem is more common with the DSP option. The cheapest way to sort this out is to find a friend with the same system and swap parts, 1st the radio then the amp to try and narrow down the problem. if you dont have someone willing to do this for you then probably your only option is taking it to the dealer for diagnosis.
