That's what I get for letting a really good friend of mine borrow the car! He was using it when his '86 582e was in the shop getting a new tranny. He felt REALLY bad and wanted to pay for the whole thing but, hey what are friends for?!
No one has ever or will ever drive my6!

I'm stationed in Germany -- and a lot of my friends own the 6 Cylinder BMW's. This seems to be an ongoing problem in almost every one of my friends cars. Their heads crack, coolant mixes with oil, etc. etc. etc. Keep an eye on it! Once you get it rebuilt, it should be perfectly fine. Most of the BMW's are known for having a weak head gasket right out of the factory.
The dealer in Germany that worked on my friends car actually told me that the Head Gasket is "The Weakest Part Of The Car".
Good Luck! If you need some Euro parts -- let me know and I'll see what I can dig up!
