Rough engine

Hi all!

I'm new here. Hope you can help.

I've a 2002 525i that i inherited from my late father. I don't use it often but lately its been having a rough engine, sometimes even stopping completely. Had it analyzed thinking computer just needs resetting. But mechanic said it shows 'miss fire' on all cylinders. Then he said it may be because of fuel system. I have a hunch it could be electrical because just had the car oil changed, and fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs are new.

Need a second opinion. Thanks.

Missfire on all Cylinders? Do you know the exact codes its throwing? Knowing those will help diagnose it better.

Start with checking all vacuum lines and intake boots for cracks. Any cracks or tears in a Vacuum line can cause issues. Also cracks or tears in the Coil Pack boots can do the same. Check those as well.

Each cylinder has its own fuel injector. Their are ways to remove them and test them to make sure each cylinder is getting fuel.

Forgot to ask, what spark plugs did you use? Certain engines require certain plugs or they wont run right. OEM plugs are NKG.

If the car isn't driven much it could be that the fuel has become stale and maybe fouled the injectors. Trying running some Seafoam through it to see if that helps.
