Roof Rail Removal

Hi Everyone. My roof rails are looking a bit worn out, the paint is stating to flake off etc...I want to remove them to recondition them, I might even leave them off. Does anybody know of any instructions on roof rail removal? Do I need any parts to cover any holes?

Cheers

By the way I have so far managed to find three of the four 13mm screws that hold the roof rails on. I can't find the 4th (nearest the rear of the car)
