Reverse Screen Question

Hi.

I'm a proud new owner of a 2006 BMW 525i Sport Package

My question is:

When I put on the reverse, the reverse sensor screen pops up on my screen, which is perfect but the problem Im having is that when I put Drive or Park the screen stays thay way and does not automatically go back to the main menu, it just stays there till I push the iDrive button to send it back.

How can I fix this for it to turn back after I put D or P back??

Also, when the sound starts beeping and I stop the car and put it in P, it keeps beeping even after I pushed the button to return it to the menu!!! I dont want to take the beeping off because I use it but it should stop after I put it back in P or D.

How can I fix this?

It may be a fault with the actual switch on the shift lever, since those issues would seem to have that in common.
