'97 528i
I made sure all the nuts were tight, I replaced the 2 purple wiper relays next to the 2 pink ABS relays (no tall tan ones on this model) and still the wipers go full distance while running, but when you turn them off- they go all the way down and then come back up about 3 or 4".
wiper motor bad? that fixed problem for me, there is a position switch in the motor module that could be the problem but for me i replaced whole assembly.
