So I finally got tired
of my damaged door pillar and decided to post up a few pictures since I was bored and couldn't find the instructions on how to remove the pillars on the doors online. Hope this comes useful to someone!
MAKE SURE YOUR WINDOW IS IN THE DOWN POSITION!
Might be a good idea to use latex gloves to shield you against the
EVIL DOOR TAR
aaaand if you choose not too and get all messy
use a cloth with some acetone to scrub it right off and some dish washing soap to get any remaining traces off!
1. First off you need to remove the door panel. Here's a link that shows how if you're not used to doing so already.

2. After you've tackled that you'll need to remove the plastic covering that runs along the top portion of the door all the way down to where the weather stripping ends. While standing outside the door pull the vertical part of the plastic towards the inner part of the door and down. Be careful not to pull too hard or you'll crack the plastic at the top corner.

I also ran a screwdriver along the inner side to help me a bit...just be patient with it and dont force it
3. Ok almost done. Again while on the outside of the door pull back on the weatherstrip that runs along the pillar there are 3 phillips head screws in there about 6 inches apart. Remove and save in a safe location...like errm your pocket.
4. Ok now for the awesome part! Grab hold of the pillar and gently pull away from the frame about 1/2 inch or so remove the weatherstrip running through it and tilt the pillar back about 1 inch and then up. You might have to wiggle it out a little but other than that it should slide ride out.
Ok now to work! Im still in the process of painting since ive decided ill be removing the other 3 pillars and repainting them as well. Ill update this if i find anything interesting later on this week...but heres the current progress...ps dont judge the magical jb weld
