You need to get hold of the tool that slips over two of the four bolts that hold the plastic pulley onto the face of the waterpump shaft. Once you have that tool in place get the appropriate open ended spanner (32mm from memory) to if it won't budge (mine didn't) put a pipe extension on both tools and gather a burly friend to push against you (one on each tool). It took my brother and one of his mates (both not lightweights) to finally break it loose after failing with a cold chisel and breaking the pulley and bending two bolts. We ended up putting a large pipe wrench on the face of the water pump shaft, and replacing the various items that we broke in the process trying to loosen it up nicely.
The way I do it is with a 32mm open ended spanner on the fan nut and give it a swift smack with a large hammer, may take a 2 or 3 attempts but it will release, yes the clutch will spin as you try...Remember its a left hand thread so undoes in the opposite direction to other nuts...
