Recommend 18" Tyres Size? - BMW Forum

Hello Guys

I'm OLD BMW Owner And This Forum Follower but I just joined and I want to be a member of this nice family here.

My Question is, I own E39 528i 96.. I got 18" Genuine BMW Rims as in pic attached down, I want to know the best recommended Tyers Sizes to fit into those rims!

Welcome to the werkz. Before I help you , you need to help me. I need to know the width of the wheel. It's generally found on the wheel in this format, 18xWhatever the second number is, be it 7, 8, 9 or so on.

There are a couple of sites that I use a lot when working out what will and won't work. The first is to identify what you have as a rim. Look it up on here

I think your wheels are Styling 123 off an E60
Then check out Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com, it allows you to figure out what might fit on your rim and under your car. Check out the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta as a tyre, supposed to be pretty good and well suited to European cars. Vredestein

yes sir, my wheels are Styling 123 from an E60

the site shows that recommended tyer is 245/40R18 ! but i think the front size is different from rear
BMW says
* 235/40/18 (front)
* 265/35/18 (rear)
and I got
* 235/40/18 (front)
* 245/40/18 (rear)

so how i get it right ?

Are you having any issues with the ABS or DSC with this combination of tyres?
Do you want wider tyres on the back?
When I looked at the Styling 123 guide its rcommended size is 245/40/18.
You wouldn't want to try to go any wider than 265 on the 8" rim, and the rolling diameter is probably fine with either combination.
