Rear window wont go down

I have an E34. Does anyone know the most common cause for my rear window not going down?..so I can start a process of elimination here.The only thread I found so far was for a series 3

Let me guess, it is the right rear? I have the same problem on my e34. Mine sounds like the window is stuck. It wants to go down and the motor is working, I just think mine is off-kilter. In any case, it is probably the regulator. It is a common problem on bmw's. My indie shop wanted $50 just to take the panel off and find out what was wrong. Since my other 3 windows work, I just left it alone. I don't use the rear windows that much anyway. Let me know if this is the problem you are having and if you find any solutions.

Lol. That's the same with my car too. But he's right u might just need a regulator. That what is wrong on mine.

No need to guess. Remove the door card to see. It is easy.
