Hello all
As I opened my door handle on my E39 525 the plastic handle snapped off. Is this a common fault? heavy doors + plastic handles ...
are they easy to replace?

Easily replaced and very common. Do not even worry about it. The part is $5.

The problem is that lever should only be used to "unlatch" the door,
NOT to be used conveniently as a door "Handle" to push/pull to swing open/close the door! I think that is the reason why it breaks so often with many owners.

To push open or pull the door closed, there is a sturdy actual handle on the door panel that is made for that purpose.

where can I get one for $5 . i got a qoute for £20.
Any suggestions for replacement?
