re: 530d 2001 - Turbo?

Hi
ive got a 530d 2001. it has just over 90k on the clock. i have been noticing a power boost delay for a while but nothing serious. this morning was another story. the car had a stranger whistle to it and all of a sudden it started rattling. there was a total loss of boost. i called the AA out who done a few checks and said my bearing on the turbo have failed. any one experienced something like this.
i've lookd after the car since i had it. never high rev it on a cold engine and always let it cool down.
please advice!! thanks
