I hit a BIG racoon with my 2000 528i and it took out my right fog light, part of the lower grill grid, several pieces of the air intake housing, the lower radiator tank, and cracked the crap out of the lower air dam thingy (that used to catch on every damn curb stop I pulled up to but now it is flapping in the wind).
My question is: Can I replace just the lower front air dam piece? Or do I need a whole new front bumper cover assembly from top to bottom? Where can I go to buy used pieces that I can repaint to my color?
I already depleted my retirement savings by replacing the radiator...so I guess that racoon will turn out to be one of the more expensive rodents on the highway to heaven. Damn thing!
Racoon fix: I found the parts I needed at Bavarian Auto Recycling. Now to see if I can figure out how to remove the smashed parts and install the new stuff. I will let y'all know how it comes out. Damn racoon......
Biggy smalls
I hope you got the right part. I am having problem getting what I paid for.
I also had problem with Raccoons. The drive in front of me decide to coon had to right of way. But my car was total. Now I am trying to rebuild it. But Bavarian can't seem to send me to correct bumper.
