Hey guys, As far as I understand this whole deal, I need to take speaker wire, and hook it into an RCA connector for it to work properly here.
Now, Here's my problem, When i do wire up one of the connectors, I believe I'm supposed to kind of combine the hot wire and the ground and hook both to the connector, I'm pretty sure this isnt right. Does anyone have any tips for me to hook this up so it will work? On the rca connector is there a positive and negative contact that i should solder to?

what you need is a line level convertor. this safely takes the high level signal coming from your amplifier (beit factory or aftermarket headunit) turns it into the low level signal that an amplifier needs. this will allow you to retain a factory radio and add an amplifier for subs or what-not. the way you are trying to do it will tear up your amplifier by feeding too much signal into the rca input of your amp.
on a side note, twisting the speaker inputs together will also damage your factory amp, regardless of what you hook to it after the fact.
