On The Prowl For An E34

Hello all. I'm currently the proud owner of an E30. I'm looking to add an E34 to the stable. I'd really like a 540, but I'll take a 525 if I have to...and they have to be manual trannies. What kind of issues should I look to avoid when purchasing one of these beauties?

ummm....I'm selling mine possibly...not sure if I want to part with it....here check out this post to see a picture of it. Kinda wierd you posted as soon as I entertained the thought of selling...

I can help you out on the issues as well....

Engine:
Nikisil Vs Alusil (spelling??)
Make sure its the later for the 4.0 V8, the 3.0's from what I hear did not have this problem...(says my mechanic).

Thurst arm bearings love to let go (I fixed those last month)

Cooling system is a bitch (I fixed that on mine two months ago)

Other then that not much else I can think of other then the normal stuff that could break on a car that age. But generally as you know a Bimmer is a tad more to maintain then most cars...!

I've heard the Nikisil isnt that great of an engine, I believe I read that at http://www.bmwe34.net/, not quite sure though...
