Pricing on 2002 530ia and Weather Question

Hi folks,

New to BMW and wanted some advice on what I should expect to pay on the following car:

2002 530ia
8000 mi
Certified Pre-Owned
Balance of scheduled Maint
Auto (steptronic)
Premium Package
Xenon Lights
Folding rear seats
Cold Weather Package
Heated wheel

Dealer is asking 39,900... Any advice on if this is a good deal, or is there a target price I should aim for? Also, what can I expect from this car with regards to snow and ice here in southern New Jersey?

I just went through this purchase process and bought one today. The first offer on a very similar '02 530 sport, 6K, went like this...they asked $40,900 and came to the table with $39,900. I offered $34,900, and they balked. They wanted me to resubmit an offer. I refused and walked. Next dealer, '02 530, 17K, premium pkg., xenon lamps, steptronic, on sale at $34,995 from $39,995. I offered $32,500 and they replied with $33,995. I countered with $32,995, and told the salesman that was my walk out offer and they took it. I drove it home today, just got back from a drive, took it up to 110, AWESOME! The 530 is a jewel. Worth every penny. Seems like $39,900 is the dealer wish price. I think they make money at $32K. Just be willing to walk.
