My 97 e39 has some issues i believe to be electrical. The tilt wheel lever only works when it wants to. cruise doesn't work, the heater/ac blower motor turns on and off irratically going from low to high and all levels in between, and the rear defrost doesn't work. those are all the things i've noticed so far. does this sound like a loose ground wire or not? don't really know where to look other than checking all fuses and relays. but any ideas or info would be appreciated.

Cruise--check to see whether the cable is connected to the throttle.

blower motor--probably needs a new final stage unit.

rear defrost--fuse is a good place to start.

ok so for the cruise i checked and cable is connected. the original owner gave me new steering wheel controls but i think there the premium pkg controls while my car is base with no phone etc. if the switch on the wheel is bad will this 'other' switch work? he also gave me the radio controls for wheel with the phone stuff. will this work for a non phone car?

also, the tilt problem was due to a loose connection at the seat adj. apparently the tilt wheel is wired thru this connection. i need a manual for this car with wiring schem...
