I'm about to buy a '97 528i with only 24,500 miles on it. How can I tell if the car was originally sold with a PREMIUM PACKAGE?? All I can find on what a a premium package is follows:
Leather
Wood Trim
Metallic Paint
Cross-Laced Aluminum wheels
Side-Impact Airbags
Is this list accurate?
The one I'm looking at is arctic silver and has no wood trim
go to bmwtips.com
press on the specifications tab on the right side, and then the first option will be e39 option codes in html
click on that, and start scrolling... you'll some description first, then numbers for colors and then finally the codes that you need to know... different code stands for different package. If i'm not mistaken you can find these codes on the side door .. the sticker should contain numbers, and the circled ones are the codes. remember them and compare
