I have two problems that I was looking to see if anyone has. I have a 93 525i and the brake light circuit check comes on every now and then. When I check the brake lights, they are all working fine. Any ideas?
Second question. When I open or lock the door locks with the driver side key or keyless entry, the passenger side front lock does not open or lock, but when I manually lock the passenger side lock, all the locks work. I guess I need a door lock actuator for that door ??? If so, has anyone replaced this and how difficult is it?
j, it sounds like you might need a brake light switch. You might also want to check your tail light assemblies as well. Typical symptoms of brake light switch failure is sporadic and intermitent brake circuit check light on. this is the most likely source. It's also a posibility that the tail light assemblies might have worn and corroded contacts. Check them as well. Brake light switches are very inexpensive and if your car hasn't had one replaced in many years, it will soon.
As far as the pass. door lock, it sounds like you do need a passenger door lock actuator, plain and simple. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. mrbigblock2@yahoo.com
