Hello,
I have bought a 525d 12/03 and i have been fu**ed by the seller i guess..
The battery was dead when i came to inspect the car, i guess that is quite normal when 100 cars is on the lot at the dealer. they brought an old but working battery and i could start the car. the car worked fine except the navi screen who had a background light but no info! This car was suppose to have dvd proffessional, telephone etc.
The dealer looked supprised and said it worked fine a few days ago. He brought another Navi and plugged it in in the back and no change.
He then said it might be due to low voltage in the battery. when you get a new battery it will work, he said. This was in germany and i was there for a day to import te car to Finland (and was in a hurry to make the ferry).
I called a friend who called a BMW service and asked if it could be true. The service guy said it might be that problem. So with a reduction on the price i bought the car and off i went. When i came home i put in a new battery, 100 amp as suppose. Guess what! no change. I took the Navi out from behind and notice that its an MK1 cd-navi and not a MK4 dvd as its suppose to be..
Also the cd-changer was missing! Only a few cables hanging loose!
I wrote 100 e-mails with no answer..
The question is! Is the navi screen suppose to show any information even if the navi is wrong or out of the car? I meen radio information or telephone info? The screen has a background light but no info what so ever is showing althogh the radio is working but i cant see what freq etc..
If i buy a new MK4 will it work or is the screen bad also..
I dont want to spend money on a mk4 if it wont help.
Some say that i need to have the navi to see anything and the diplay will start showing everything when i get the new one in beacuse everything goes thrue that one and that is why nothing shows on the screen.
can anybody rip out their navi and see if the display shows anything when its out!? like radio, phone etc..
A lot of text
Hope anybody can help!
