please help! e39 alarm siren not working

my alarm siren is not working .. a while ago my main key wasnt unlocking and locking the doors so i switch to another spare key and re programed that key beacause it was a while ago i dont remember if that was the reason for my siren not working i dont know if i mixed up something and caused the alarm to be silent .. ive looked around for different answers but i cant find them anywhere .. help will be greatly appriciated thank you!!

i dont know if the key progming is the reason or,

the hood senser and me being to lazy to replace it killed the siren after constantly going off or,

the siren deactivated itself beacause of constant false alarms ....

thank you for your time

Your saying the siren does not work when you push the button or trip the alarm, correct?

Thank you Brett that link is great but idk if I'm blind but I can't find the thing I'm looking for ..

Lord that's correct I press the panic button prurpously and just the lights go on no sound I don't know if it's possible that I accidentally programmed it when programming the key but I've looked around and it doesn't say that that's possible but just making sure .. My other thing is that it the siren deactivated itself cause of constant false alarms ...

I don't think the siren can deactivate itself. Alarms can't tell if it's "false" or not. I would start by checking your fuses, then your wiring. Make sure it's all connected and theirs no fraying or possible shorts.

I know on my E36 the siren is located under the airbox down behind the drivers headlight but I'm not exactly sure where yours is.

Yea that makes more sense thank you .. It's under the wheel passenger side I just wanted to make sure I didn't do all that work and pay 140 for a new one meanwhile all I had to do was program it or something .. Lucky all you have to do is open the hood ..

Let us know how it works out.

My siren is now mounted behind the passenger side headlight next to the windshield washer fluid tank. Kinda handy if I need I acess it, however I lost the only key fob that came with it so I haven't used the alarm in years.
