Picked up my rims today... :) plus.. I love my E39!!
Just got back from St Petersburg, on my 5r's first road trip.. she did beautifully! On the way down there, just outside of Orlando on I-4 going towards Tampa/St. Pete, a fairly new E500 Mercedes decided to have some fun with me. I knew he could take me, but I decided to have a go anyway. We played around in traffic and when there was an open stretch we would both gun it. I was quite surprised that I was able to hang, although he probably wasnt giving it everything. What I was really surprised about is that at one point, after slowing down from hitting about 125 mph, I thought I was just cruising back at around 80, and I was doing 100mph! I was amazed at how smooth it was at speed, at how much power was still on tap at that speed. just a tap of the accelerator and I could hit 120 pretty damn quick.
Anyway, picked up the 18" M-parallels today down in Sarasota. From St. Pete to Sarasota I got to cruise over the Sunshine Skyway... that is one sick bridge...
I cannot wait to get some rubber for them and give my girl a shiny new set of shoes
I'll take some new pics of her when I get them mounted up...

Please do share photos! I love to hear of others' escapades!
Here's one of mine: Back soon after we had purchased our 1994 Legend GS 6-speed (similar in spirit to my current 540) we drove down to Jacksonville to visit a friend over memorial day weekend. That car also gracefully cruised at triple digits.
On the return trip I noticed traffic was moving rapidly through Georgia and then South Carolina. Long story short I averaged 93 or 94 mph from just North of Savannah to Florence, and made that entire leg in about 100 minutes or so.
Outrageous! My bladder probably saved my license because after I'd de-pressurized I felt more mellow and decided to cruise much closer to the speed limit...

Do a search on "O E Wheels" on ebay. Lots of good feedback on them. They have pretty much all the OEM BMW styles, plus other makes. The wheels look to be very high quality. The center caps and M-badges are BMW OEM, not replicas. After tax, it was $555.39 for these. If you live near the Sarasota area, its worth saving $100 to go pick them up, you just have to have cash to do that. They dont take cards/checks at the location.
What do you guys think I could get for my 15" stock rims on ebay? $200?

That's cool, good price! Let us know if they run straight. I've heard of some replicas that have balancing problems. If they are from a good manufacturer, I wonder if they have the deep dish 5-spoke Hamann wheels.
I hope they are nice and true as well... but the company has 98.5% positive feed back of over 10,000 feedbacks left. Their annual sales are over $17 million. I think if I had a problem with the wheels, they would not have a problem sending me new ones.
About the deep dish Hamanns...not sure... they pretty much just had OEM replicas, but here is a link to thier ebay store... check it out:\
on another note, I put my prelude up for sale in autotrader.com today, and have already had 2 calls and 1 email on it tonight. One guy is coming over tomorrow to check it out. Looks like I will have rubber on those wheels sooner than I thought!
I've also got a silver '97 528i (auto) in the driveway, and have had my eyes on that set of wheels for quite a while. It's always been my favorite style, so congrats on your purchase! $500 and change is a steal! Get some pictures up with them on your car when you can.
Will do... I've been out of town all this week on business, and since Sunday I have had 7 calls about my prelude. Hopefully one of them will come see it this weekend and take it off my hands... getting tired of it taking up driveway space!
