Has anyone on the forum had any experience with purchasing a performance chip for a 540i.Yes i know there are many advertised etc,but need to have a recomendation from someone who has done this.
Dinan group do them but the price is skyhigh and Im yet to talk to anyone who has purchased one.Ciscokid claims to have another well known brand in his 325,but as usual cannot supply any technical detail ! Fuel injection or not makes no difference. The chips are mapped to supply a certain amount of fuel and air etc,and much more including ignition timing etc.
Keep hunting.Good luck.
Hey silverlea, this is the second or third time I've seen you make some underhanded crack at CiscoKid. Knock it off, he actually contributes to these forums. Also, you never answered his question: what year is your car?

You've made 11 posts and you're talkin' about "as usual". You're not motivating anyone to help you with your atitude and remarks.
for cars up to 1995 they have chips. for those newer than that there is OBDII software available (someone correct me if i'm wrong).
just finished looking at turner motorsport site and there is no software available for a e39 540i (i am guessing that this is what you have)... there is however sofware for 528i and 530i. Hope this helps.
and please be a little nicer to the rest of our members. i am sure that if he knew the answer to your question he would tell you.
