Hi, Does anyone know the price for a new E39 M5 O/S door mirror. I have been offered one for £170. The glass on mine is dis-coloured, do you think this is a good price???. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for being so helpful, I didn't know that calling people a Cock was standard on this site!!! I'm sure you are the type of person that knows all things about everything and never made a mistake.

@ Coldstream69...You can replace just the glass instead of buying the whole mirror.
@ Jimmythe pie...are you for real or just on something? This is a site to help others not crack on them. Totally unnecessary IMO.
I'm the type of person who knows nothing about anything and makes lots of mistakes. But then you ain't so clever otherwise you would have googled Europarts and saved yourself a whole heap of trouble.GSF they sell bits for BMW. Come on mate how hard is it?
rav3 keep your snout out if I want to mock a fellow Brit I will. If Coldstream can't figure out how to sort such a simple problem and is so supersensitive that he is now squealing like a girl then maybe this ain't the site for him.
Perhaps you didn't notice that he quoted Spike Milligan so he must have some kind of sense of humour although it failed to come through in his reply.
@ coldstream 69 (my favourite number, the metric equivalent is 181)
Have a look at Pelican Parts in the USA for price comparisons.
Good prices but you have to keep an eye on the freight costs.
They seem to have a good search engine especially if you know the part number
@jimmythepie If you make lots of mistakes you should know something by now?
So you live in England? That is helpful but don't you want us to know where??

Thanks for the info, even you Jimmy. For the record BMW will supply cromatic glass however if will hit your wallet for £315 including the VAT!!!
Jimmy,
Europarts didn't help however I should have tried a little harder for myself rather than looking for the easy way out.

Hey Aussie noob, i live in East Sussex now,South London prior to that. I do know a bit but i aint such a smartass that i wanna bore everyone to death imparting my wisdom.
A breakers yard is his best bet but hes too dumb to find one for himself. If hes still going on in a day or so i may point him in the right direction.

Been as far south as Surrey and Hampshire gliding club at Lasham, but a long time age. Nice country down there. (Was it Worthington's E? I remember hiccuping for days.)
I'm really a Geordie but you wouldn't know from my accent now

Try some of the specialist mirror (household type) suppliers, some of them can cut to suit your requirements, and even curve the glass if its required. I found a supplier locally for my boss here (Australia) to suit a Honda Oddity, and it was a fraction of what the genuine one was going to cost him.
If you can't find one there let me know and I'll put you in touch with the supplier here in Melbourne, it might still work out cheaper than your current solution.

Jimmy do you really think I haven't tried all the breakers in the area!!! I have also registered on a number of part finder sites. The mirrors for a E39 M5 are as rare as rocking horse crap...If you are so good, see if you can find one, that will impress me. Try to remember you are not looking for parts on something as common as a 328I. Just for the record its an O/S Chromatic mirror.

okay you monkey try these boys BMW Parts from FAB Direct | Home maybe they can help you. And remember your the one who wanted to buy an M5 and E 39 at that, chromatic chromatic as well.
I'm almost beginning to feel sorry for you, good luck
Thanks for the banter, I have already tried your guys with no luck. I know I am going to struggle for 2nd hand parts and it may mean paying main dealer prices but the grin factor of the motor makes it all worth while all the best, Marc
