So as some of you may know I got shadowline trim to get rid of the chrome on my car, next step, get rid of it around the windows. My Dad told me last night that i couldn't do it just because he is worried about having to replace the seals. he doens't want it to leak or kill the sound proof. Our denali has been at the painter for quite a while after 4 screw ups, or maybe just because my step mom is too perticular, but I was trying to get them to do it for free, just paint the old ones. Is it true that paint wont stick on it? and that they said it would cost $600 if I were to pay for it? What the hell? I have seen people do it on there own? what should I do?

You could paint it with the right paint but it would probably chip a bit easy. Changing the chrome for shadow shouldn't bugger up your seals at all. What do you think the body shops do when a car goes if for repair??? - they just slide the trim off! (unless they're crap then they'd mask over it).

What kind of repair would they need to remove the sides? My car has never been in an accident or have needed any paint
