hello.. I have a black 97 528.. i was wondering would it look nice if i painted the grill black? any tips on what kind of paints and what coats to use? Thnx everyone.. and also i was thinking about buying new rims or just painting my BBS's black (big boy shit) heres a pic.. i got my baby sitting pretty low too. ! I recently painted mine and it came out really good. I removed the grills, sanded them down, sprayed them with gray primer, used semi-flat black paint and applied four then coats.

i did it today, i used primer, then black paint, then went over it with black paint again, then i hit it with the clear coat 3 times.. it looks real nice. thnx

Didn't the clear coat leaving it look glossy (I ask because OEM grills are flat)? Post pics. I would like to see the results.

alright.. if its nice out tomorrow ill go wash it and take some pics.. and yeah the clear coat looks nice !!, thnx again.
oh.. after i got done my buddy thought it was dry so we put it on.. and then the idiot tried to like push it in there real good with a rag, and left a mark on one side because it wasn't 100% dry.. that idiot.. u cant see it if u stop back a foot.. so its all good i guess.

Don't worry about it. You will have to do it again eventually. It will chip a little after you drive it some.
