My brother has a tough decision and I was hoping if you can help him out with which car he should go for. He is being offered a 06 525i with 24,000 miles (4yr/50,000 waranty still remaining) or a 06 530xi with 53,000 (with elapsed BMW warranty) for exactly the same price. Can I get a pole as to which car you guys would choose. Thanks
A warrenty is a very good thing. If I were in a simular situation, having to choose between two very simular cars - the warrenty factor would most likey be the factor that closed the deal. If the car with out the warrent was in better condition though then I might be moved to get it. I guess to be able to help we would need to know if both cars are in the same condition.

Looking at both cars with my brother both cars appearance wise seem to look in excellent condition except the rims on the 530xi have a few minor scrapes. The 525i has no cold climate package and the 530xi does. It also has the xexon head light and the 525i doesn't. Tough tough tough. I told him I love my 525i and have no issue with having no heated seats and no problem in snow but i guess everyone is different. He said what ever the majorty on the forum chooses he will go with. I agree with the warranty issue. Better to have a car with warranty cause you never know especially if its a second hand car.
Yeah if they are both in good condition then go with the 525i. Regular headlights and no heated seats are not a big deal at all unless he lives where it gets extremely cold and stays that way for long periods of time. It is a nice feature but not nice enough that it over-shadows the fact that the 525i is under warranty. Best of luck to your brother with which ever he chooses to get. If he wants he can get both and give me the one he likes least after having a little time with them.
