Oil service light's won't reset and acting weird... - BMW Forum

I did a search on here and didn't really see anything. So here goes:

I changed the oil on my new to me 540 today. Before changing it this afternoon, I noticed the oil life indicator lights had 3 lights showing - unusual since the last green light was on yesterday. When I got back in the car a few hours later, there was only one glowing - next to the yellow which is the way it was yesterday. This is where it has been for the last 3-4k miles...doesn't seem to budge.

So I change the oil, get out my Peak Research dealo and do the usual reset procedure with the key in position 2 etc etc...and the oil lights didn't reset! I tried it several times. I also tried grounding the 7 pin. Again nothing.

Any idea? I usually change the oil fairly regular so it isn't that big a deal. Just weird.

May I know what is the reset procedures for the oil chnage lights?
