Got this oil reset tool from Ebay, followed the directions and there is still 1 rellow and 1 red light on..same as before. I turned the ignition to position 1 and position 2 where all the lights were on and neither did it. Anyone use one of these cheep tools? Any ideas, for 3.95 I couldn't resist
Yea you could, but I gotta admit that device for $4 is a pretty good deal. And for some people who can't see the numbers on the socket that would be handy.
Here is a guy that has one in the USA if you can't wait...its a little more but don't have to wait so long. Vader..I read to many horror stories in here about people screwing the pins up. My eye sight isn't getting any better to. Dang thing works good. Will order a Peake tool soon to.
Well if that works just as well as a Peake tool then why spend $130+ ? Thats why i was really excited to see that. For guys on limited budgets it works much better.
True but the peake tool will read your codes when there is a problem. This tool only resets your lights I believe. I bought one from this USA source and I also got one coming from China. The one from China is not here yet..it may take a while. I can't believe they can make something for under $4 and look this good. For as often as someone has to reset there oil inspection lights..its an amazing deal. Hope I never need a peake tool but I want to be prepared beings there is no one to work on BMW's for 200 miles. So all I did with this tool was plug it in..turn the key on so the dash lights were on.. push the INSP button and hold it till the light goes out..then push the oil button till the light goes out and it was done! No directions were included. Pretty simple, I left 2 links above for those interested.
Theirs 2 Peake tools. One for the codes, and one for oil service/inspection. Both about the same cost. Even for $14 it's an awesome deal! I plan on posting this on my local forums as well.
