oil pump chain adj on m62 44

i have a2002 540i with a loose chain on the oil pump,the book shows a allen bolt to adjust but their is no allen on this one,any ideas?thanks.

A loose chain on the pump?? Do you mean On the Vanos unit? I'm sorry but I've never heard of an oil pump having a chain.

its a separete chain to oil pump on this engine 4.4 v8

There is indeed a drive chain, but I am not sure how to adjust the tension. How did you detect that it was loose in the first place?

Have a look at http://www.e38.org/replacing_oil_pump(M60).pdf

Not the m62, but it looks identical.
